Grace Building Blocks is UNIQUE in our preschool schedule. Children are not assigned to specific days. Children attend the number of days paid for per week BUT the parent has the option of choosing which days their child will attend. The school calendar for preschool, kindergarten, first and second grades will follow the Marion County Public School calendar as closely as possible.
SCHOOL HOURS:
Preschool & MMO: 8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. MMO on Thursday or Friday only
Kindergarten: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
First & Second Grade: 8:30 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.
Our school day is often flexible, but it will include a Circle Time, Bathroom, Bible, Music, Skills, Activities, Snack, Playground, Clean-up time and more.
DROP-OFF and PICK-UP:
Parking is available in the grass lot north of the church (see map). IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU ESCORT YOUR CHILD TO THE CLASSROOM AND NOT JUST "DROP THEM OFF". If you bring your child earlier than their school hours, there will be a small fee charged. Late pick-ups of children will also have a charge. Please let us know if you plan to use this service.
Please check your child's cubby each day and look for school news and information on the easel in the hallway. Calendars, newsletters and other parent handouts will be on the table by the pick-up line.
The entry door will be LOCKED during school hours. Please knock and we will let you in. This is for the safety of all our children.
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES:
- Library starts in October: Every child will have the opportunity to choose and check out a book from the Grace Presbyterian Church Media Center. When the book is returned, the child will be able to check out a new book on the next "Library Day." We encourage parents to use the GPC Media Center. The GPC Bookstore offers materials for purchase at cost.
- Gymnastics: Grace'Full Gymnastics will offer several six-week sessions for only $12 per session. Mrs. Jill is a licensed instructor. Tell someone at the GBB office if you are interested in arranging this for your child.
- SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS: Holidays will be highlighted with special celebrations at school. We need at least four or five parents to sign up for each of these events. Please sign up if there is a special event with which you would like to help.
